About the artist:
I’m a full-time medical illustrator based in Bloomington, IN. I create digital anatomical landscapes for a medical device company. When I’m not illustrating aneurysms, kidney stones, or ruptured ear drums, you can find me taking reference photos of moss and lichen in the forest for my future paintings.
I’ve always used art as a creative outlet to release frustration, anxiety, and pent-up energy since I was a child. I can’t foresee a future where I’m not painting or nature journaling as a form of meditation.
For me, painting is like a continuous itch that I can’t scratch. Something inside me will not settle unless I have a painting in progress or something brewing for my next creative venture. I’m less attached to the final piece than I am the process of creating itself. I instantly lose interest in the finished image and scramble the pieces within seconds of fitting the last piece of a puzzle. Like puzzles, the thrill is within the paintbrush, paint medium, and application, not the canvas.
My passion is working with oil paint. While currently raising two small pollywogs, I’ve transitioned over to watercolor to sneak in shorter painting windows as they open.
By purchasing a painting or print, you are directly contributing to my forever dream of building a modest art studio. A space for endless creation, without distraction of household chores, work and beloved kiddos.
